Departure from Orient Square, at 09.00AM., towards Zaragoza. Free time to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of The Pilar, patron of Spain and stroll through the old streets of Zaragoza. In the afternoon we will continue to San Sebastian, one of the most famous tourist destinations where they hold the International Film Festival. Panoramic city tour of this French style city of pleasant building arranged around the shoreline. View the lovely landscape dominated by the crescent shaped bay and Conchas beach. Overnight.
Breakfast at hotel. We will approach Mount Igueldo from where we will have a great view of the crescent shaped bay and the city and then proceed towards Bilbao. Panoramic drive in Bilbao and free time on the esplanade where The Guggenheim Museum is located in order to admire its uniquely modern architecture. Proceed to the old fishing village “Castro Urdiales” with its many seafood restaurants and ruins of a medieval castle. Free time for lunch on your own to try one of the local fish or seafood specialties or stroll around the lovely shores. Departure to Santander, a port city located between the sea and the mountains, well known for its Sardinero Beach, one of the best known beaches in Spain with a lovely promenade. Free time to stroll through this elegant city. Overnight.
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Santilana, one of the most important historical medieval towns in Spain. It contains architectural treasures such as the Collegiate of Santa Juliana, a Jewel of the Romanesque Architecture in Cantabria. Continue to Covadonga, where you will have free time to see the Sanctuary and the Grotto with the patroness of Asturias, our Lady of Covadonga. In the afternoon, departure to Oviedo, where you will see on a series of hills the beauty of Saint Maria de Naranco Church, a unique jewel of the pre- Romanic Asturian architecture. Free time to explore Oviedo, many of their streets are pedestrian, where you will be able to see World Heritage sites like The Cathedral, a splendid example of gothic. Overnight.
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Gijon, panoramic city tour and then proceed to Cudillero, one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Spain with houses cascading down from the hillside to the turquoise-blue sea below. Free time for lunch at one of the local restaurants or climb up through the steep winding streets to the top of the hill for excellent views. In the afternoon depart to Lugo, which holds one of the most impressive roman ramparts with a perimeter of 2266 meters in circumference, a declared World Heritage monument. Have a leisurely stroll on top of the original Roman wall. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to La Coruña. Brief panoramic drive through the main avenues of this port town driving by the Marine Avenue to admire the elegance of this city looking up to the facades for discovering the typical Galician architecture of glass house galleries. Brief stop at one of the wonders of the world, the oldest working lighthouse, the
“ Tower of Hercules” dating back to the Roman period. Afternoon at leisure or you can take an optional tour to the nearby villages of the Rias Altas river estuary towns. Overnight at A Coruna.
Breakfast at hotel. Departure to Santiago de Compostela, the city of the Apostol St James, a World Heritage city as it is one of the most important centers of Christian Pilgrimages in Spain and Europe at the end of the Camino de Santiago route built during the Roman Empire. City tour to see the main square called Obradoiro and also the Cathedral ( entrance included ) dedicated to the Apostle Santiago. Afternoon free at leisure to explore the narrow cobblestone streets and get the feel of the medieval atmosphere. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards one of the most picturesque areas of Galicia, the Rias Bajas. Driving through this magnificent landscape we will arrive to la Toja Island, universally known for its spa. Free time and continue to the Ria de Arosa, passing through Pontevedra to arrive to Vigo, situated in the middle of the Rias Baixas. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy this lively city or an optional tour to Bayona and Santa Tecla to see the remains of the old Celtic settlements situated on top of the hill of Santa Tecla and to enjoy the beautiful views of the river estuaries with the Miño River in Portugal. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Salamanca following the Old Silver Route built during Roman times. On arrival free time in this world renowned city with one of the oldest universities in Europe, the magnificent Plaza Mayor, the Shells House, old and new Cathedral. Overnight.
Breakfast at hotel. Departure towards the border town of Ciudad Rodrigo, originally a Celtic village famous for its 12th century town walls, castle and cathedral. Cross the Portuguese border near Guarda to reach the University city of Coimbra, one of the oldest in Europe and once the capital of Portugal. Free time to admire their narrow streets, hanging houses, palaces, chapels and churches, which is a must to see. drive to Fatima, well known for the Sanctuary of our Lady of Fatima, patroness of Portugal. Free time to visit the Basilica. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the beautiful medieval city of Obidos, where we can explore the cobblestone streets and red roofed white houses, sheltered by the impressive city walls. Our next stop will be in Lisbon, the lovely capital city of Portugal, located on the right bank of the Tagus River. At night today, we offer an optional special dinner with Fado show, the national song of Portugal and a must to see. (has to be booked in advance). Overnight.
Breakfast and overnight, In the morning included a panoramic city tour of Lisbon, passing through the Alfama district, birthplace of St. Anthony and once the old Moorish Quarters, the Belem Tower symbol of Lisbon and the Jeronimous Monastery. Afternoon at leisure to explore on your own. Possibility for an optional tour to see the 3 most visited towns on the west Atlantic Coast: Sintra world Heritage Town, Cascais and Estoril seaside resorts.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the Spanish border to arrive to the World Heritage city of Caceres, with authentic historic buildings dating back to the 14th and 16th century. The old quarters is one of the 3 best conserved medieval quarters in Europe. Tour on foot to see the Plaza Mayor and the old medieval district. After our tour we will proceed back to Madrid. End of tour. Possibility to add extra hotel night in Madrid.
