A Madrid panoramic city tour to find the medieval origins of the city. Such as the Arabic fortress, at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historical buildings. Drive past the Hapsburg Renaissance and Baroque style buildings, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. Enjoy the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains, the Puerta de Alcalá and the Prado Museum. Then see contemporary Madrid such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla and Parque del Oeste. Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the luxury coach for an 8:30 a.m. departure along La Mancha, the land of Don Quixote. After a brief stop in Puerto Lapice, we cross through the natural border of the “Despeñaperros” to arrive in Andalucia. See the Cordoba Mosque (entrance included) and other sites as you stroll through the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter. Another two hours and we reach Seville. After breakfast a morning panoramic tour of the Cathedral’s exterior, Santa Cruz quarter, Maria Luisa Park and Plaza de España. The afternoon is again at your leisure to explore, shop or relax. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel with an optional Flamenco Tour.
This morning we drive on the Caliphate road past endless olive trees on the way to Granada and its incredible and amazing monuments from the Moorish Kingdoms until 1492. Visit the world famous Alhambra complex (entrance included) and Generalife Gardens that have inspired several books, such as the “Tales of the Alhambra” by W. Irving. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optional Gipsy Flamenco show at Sacromonte quarter.
This morning we travel on the Mediterranean coast, via Murcia. We continue north via Alicante, until we reach Valencia. Known as one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast with its modern Arts and Sciences Architectural Complex. Comprising six elements: Hemispheric, Umbracle, Science Museum, Oceanographic, Palau de les Arts and Ágora. A morning tour of Valencia followed by the “Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias” to watch the emblematic exteriors of the six buildings. An early afternoon departure northward all along the Mediterranean coast to Catalunya, via Tarragona, the Roman Tarraco. Finally, we arrive at Barcelona the homeland the architect Gaudí. First a morning drive along the streets of Barcelona with impressive modernist buildings by Gaudí such as La Pedrera and Casa Milá. Then we travel to Montjuïc Park with spectacular views of the city and harbor. View the monument to Columbus and the afternoon is free to discover the city on your own.
