Located next to the Plaza Mayor Madrid this 100- year old food market is housed in a beautiful period building offering hungry tums the opportunity to taste the finest of Spanish gastronomy from every corner of Spain. If you are new to Spain it’ll give you the opportunity to taste your way through many regional specialities. You will find 20 stalls committed to preparing quality tapas and others offering a startling selection of beers, wines, vermut (Catalan for vermouth) and of course sangria. Visit the Mercado de Dan Miguel website before you come as they often have events onsite as part of their “Days of Market” program. You will find wine tastings directed by sommeliers and chef led cooking demonstrations. It’s an immersive sensory experience, the atmosphere, the smells, the people watching and of course the food is first class. Open from 10am to midnight – Monday to Thursday & Sunday. 10am to 1am Friday & Saturday.
