Itinerary
Day 1, Tuesday: BARCELONA
Meet at the Barcelona's Sans railway station, you will receive your electronic train tickets in advance with the documents. Departure from Barcelona by high speed train to Madrid. Arrival at Atocha railway station, transfer to the hotel in Madrid for overnight.

Day 2, Wednesday: MADRID- TRUJILLO - LISBON
Breakfast at hotel. Pick up at the hotel at 7:45 and transfer to the departure terminal. Departure at 8:30 a.m. driving  westbound towards the region of Extremadura to Trujillo, hometown of many Conquistadors of the New World, among them Francisco Pizaro, the infamous conqueror of the Incas in Peru. Free time to explore the city's  beautiful and authentic Plaza Mayor. Continue on through Portuguese soil along the Alentejo plains via historic sites as Elvas, Estremoz and Setubal. Enter through the impressive bridge 25th April to Lisbon, the lovely capital city of Portugal. Accommodation at the hotel. Optional evening with dinner and Fado show, the typical Portuguese bitter-sweet song and music. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 3, Thursday: LISBON
Buffet breakfast. Morning tour of this ancient and lovely city overlooking the Tagus River. Admire its splendid avenues and monuments like the Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery, both are World Heritage monuments designated by UNESCO. Drive through Liberty Ave, Pombal square and see the monument dedicated to the Discoverers. Afternoon at leisure for your own activities. Maybe you want to visit the Alfama quarter, the oldest part of Lisbon inhabited as early as the 5th century with a distinctive Moorish flavor of white houses and narrow alley ways. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 4,  Friday: LISBON - OBIDOS - ALCOBACA - NAZARE- FATIMA
After breakfast today with drive north to visit the beautiful walled town of Óbidos with its picturesque streets and a the castle. Continue to Alcobaça to visit the early gothic 12the century church containing the tombs of Pablo and Inês de Castro, whose life was tragically shortened due to political intrigues. Lunch at Nazaré, one of the most colorful of Portuguese fishing villages. Continue to the Sitio lookout point to have a panoramic view of the beach and the village, then drive to Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style a designated World Heritage monument by UNESCO. Continue to Fátima. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 5. Saturday: FATIMA -LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Day at your leisure in Fatima to visit the center of Christian faith and the World Pilgrims Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and Cova da Iria where the Virgin Mary appeared and where the tombstones of Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco are. At the end of the day return to Lisbon through the colorful farming region. Accommodation at the hotel in Lisbon.

Day 6. Sunday: LISBON - CACERES - CORDOBA.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the Spanish border to arrive to the World Heritage city of Caceres of fortified houses with historic buildings sheltered by the town wall dating back to the 14th and 16th century. The old center is one of the 3 best conserved medieval quarters in Europe. Tour on foot to see the Plaza Mayor and the old medieval district. After our sightseeing we continue driving to Cordoba, former capital of the Moorish Caliphate and a UNESCO protected World Heritage town. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7. Monday: CORDOBA - SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour of the Mesquita (mosque) famous for its many columns collected form different parts of the world, a World Heritage monument. Stroll through the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter with its white-washed houses, hidden patios and many flowers. In the afternoon drive to Sevilla, the capital of Andalucia and the third largest city in Spain. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 8. Tuesday: SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning panoramic city tour  driving through the Maria Luisa park and the Spanish Square, see the Cathedral (from outside), the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peters in Rome; the Santa Cruz Quarter, a background to “Carmen” and the legend of  “Don Juan”. Afternoon at leisure for you to discover exclusive views, specific flavors of this active full of light city. Our suggestion is to visit (on your own) the spectacular Alcazar palace, the oldest royal place still in use in Europe with its stalactite adorned rooms and lovely gardens. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Evening optional Flamenco show.

Day 9. Wednesday: SEVILLE - GRANADA
After breakfast at the hotel drive east through the old Caliphate road to the heart of Andalucia, Granada passing by  endless number of olive trees. Granada was the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms up to 1492. Visit the world famous Alhambra (Red Palace) with its richly ornate rooms and gorgeous views; the enchanting Generalife Gardens, fountains, gardens, patios that have inspired several authors with their sounds and sights, such as the “Tales of the Alhambra” by W. Irving. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optional Gipsy Flamenco show at Sacromonte quarter, the former Moorish town of zigzag alleys and hidden vistas of the Alhambra.

Day 10. Thursday: GRANADA - VALENCIA
After breakfast we leave Granada and drive toward the Mediterranean coast via Murcia, capital of the fertile garden of the Segura river. Continue on the coast to Alicante, the elegant seaside resort city, then reach Valencia one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast with its unique Arts and Sciences Architectural Complex integrated by six elements: Hemispheric, Umbracle, Science Museum, Oceanographic, Palau de les Arts and Ágora. Valencia is also the place where the national dish, known worldwide as “Paella” was originally created. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 11. Friday: VALENCIA- BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of this bright city including a drive through the old parts showing the most prominent buildings, we will then be driven past the old riverbed of the Turia to the most avant-garde complex “Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias” to watch the emblematic exteriors of the six buildings. Early afternoon departure northward  along the Mediterranean coast to Catalunya, via Tarragona, the Roman Tarraco. Reach Barcelona, the Catalan capital and one of Europe's most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities famous for its architect Gaudí, symbol of the Catalonian modernism. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 12. Saturday:  BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of Barcelona driving along the main avenues with impressive modernist buildings by Gaudí such as La Pedrera, Casa Milá, etc. – declared World Heritage buildings. – The Montjuich Park with spectacular views of the city and arvel, Olympic Ring, monument to Columbus and the emblematic Gothic Quarter, heart of the old city and its historical center. Afternoon is at leisure to keep discovering this city on your own. You can stroll around the old Gothic quarters, or the famous Rambla, Barcelona's main shopping pedestrian avenue or join one of the optional afternoon excursions. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 13. Sunday. BARCELONA - MADRID
After breakfast you have an option of finishing your tour in Barcelona or going back to Madrid. We drive to Zaragoza, capital city of Aragón, on the banks of Ebro river. Zaragoza, known as Cesar Augusta during the Roman period had an important role in Spanish history. Free time to see the impressive Baroque architecture of the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar.
